The FirmOksart Design Build Limited is a partnership between DBR Design + Build and Oksanen & Associates to provide: functional programming, design development / resolution, design and contract documents and construction supervision / project management services. The association (incorporated 1989) consists of two principles, Juha Oksanen B.T.ARCH 1996 and Ezio Sartor C.E.T. 1984. The firm employs, as projects dictate, associate engineers, planners and architects. Offices are located at 241 Rouge Hills Dr. in Toronto, Ontario. Partner ProfilesJuha Oksanen, associate in charge of residential /commercial unit design/ creative development and project management has extensive experience in residential unit design. Prior to 1987 Juha had worked with various commercial design build firms in the Toronto area. As a commercial project manager for Sulyma Construction Group, a mid size firm in west Toronto, he was able to hone his skills with lowrise commercial construction from an intimate on site perspective. Following this experience he became project / site manager for a series of commercial unit projects, these included amongst others the Second Cup Coffee Shops throughout Toronto. In 1987 Juha opened a design / build firm in Toronto, projects varied between commercial and residential / rural design. Juha graduated from Ryerson Polytechnic University in 1996 with a technical degree in architectural design, this added a substantial theory base to his already well-rounded practical background. Also in 1996 Juha received his Ontario Building Code certificate in residential design. Recently, Juha has been involved primarily in residential / rural design. These include cottage/ home designs varying in complexity and size from 800 to 8000 square feet. These projects have helped him to establish flexible design acumen, as each site and each client program are unique. Ezio Sartor, partner, is primarily responsible for the design of feasibility studies for multiple unit housing, production of construction documents and contracts with special interest in commercial interiors. His prime expertise is in project management of residential housing construction in particular renovations. Ezio graduated from the Ryerson Institute of Technology in 1984. Earlier experience was varied in project type. Ezio became a Field Supervisor for VanBots Construction and was involved with the construction of the underground sports facility at Ryerson University. He then moved on and worked with various Construction firms as a partner or as a foreman. During this time he was responsible for blue print reading, lay-out and building of wood frame structures both residential and commercial low rise, including numerous student housing and seniors projects, which were underwritten or financed through CMHC. Ezio further enhanced his theory base with technical training of the Ontario Building Code - specifically Part 9 concentrating on residential construction safety, structural, barrier free design and general code applications. Ezio later received his certificate in Professional CADD and associated DOS advanced from Humber College. In 1987 Ezio moved to start a Design+Build Contracting Company. He has been involved primarily in custom single-family housing. His varied projects included the maintenance / renovation of Ontario Hydro's Head office in Toronto, tenant improvements for Yorkdale Shopping Center and construction of the Mr. Lube in Newmarket Ontario. Both partners share a unique combination of operational and design experience in the residential and commercial design / construct industry. This is reflected in the commitment of Oksart Design Build Limited to a project planning and design development process, in which management and ownership objectives are combined with practical and operationally sound Design / Build solutions.
